I SEE THE WORLD THROUGH BIPOLAR WEATHER

SCENT IS MY MEMORY SPEAKING BACK

THIS WORK IS NOT LOOKING FOR BALANCE

IT IS LEARNING HOW TO STAY

I see the world through bipolar disorder not as a diagnosis, but as an atmospheric condition that alters color, sensation, and the way memory moves through the body. My work emerges from this shifting climate.

I create visual and olfactory artworks that explore emotional states that refuse resolution. The paintings, moving images, and scents unfold in the space between rupture and repair where longing becomes architecture and air becomes a carrier of memory. Fragrance, for me, is not worn. It is inhabited. Each scent acts as an emotional climate, a sensory document of a moment the mind cannot fully hold but the body refuses to forget. These works do not illustrate bipolar disorder; they produce its weather manic voltage, depressive quiet, tender equilibrium, and the fragile brightness in between. Through this practice, I pursue one central question: How can an artwork allow us to live inside the feelings that once broke us?

WORKS

Visual and sensorial studies of bipolar weather. These works explore the emotional bipolar spectrum through image, text, and air. They are not representations of experience but environments in which experience happens.

Some feelings have color. Some colors breathe.

MOTH AND RABBIT PERFUMES WAS FOUNDED IN BERLIN IN 2016 BY ARTIST SEONGNAM CHRISTIAN CHOI CHEVALIER AND ELKE FILPES AS AN AVANT-GARDE PERFUMERY DEVOTED TO STORYTELLING THROUGH SCENT. EACH FRAGRANCE UNFOLDS LIKE A FILM A TRANSLATION OF EMOTION, MEMORY, AND HUMAN EXPERIENCE INTO OLFACTORY FORM.

Guided by the symbolic duality of the MOTH and the RABBIT, light and darkness, sensitivity and endurance, the house explores how perfume can shift perception and reveal deeper layers of contemporary life. Its inspiration comes not from traditional perfumery, but from the worlds of film, contemporary art, and cultural innovation.

Every composition is crafted with exceptional ingredients and a minimal design language that merges refined luxury with quiet wit. Available in select international boutiques, MOTH and RABBIT creates olfactory artworks that move across borders, disciplines, and senses.

These scents are not simply perfumes.
They are modern stories, distilled into experiences that linger, resonate, and connect.

I am still learning the shape of my own weather.

A scent remembers what the mind edits.

I tried to leave certain feelings, but they followed me into the air.

Some storms are internal. Some are inherited.

Attempts at a Face During Bipolar Weather

Ink, graphite, and olfactory correspondences

This ongoing series investigates the instability of the face under the conditions of bipolar disorder not as a medical illustration, but as a psychic topology where identity fractures, reforms, and slips out of definition.

Each work is drawn in a sustained, unbroken movement, allowing the line to behave like thought when it is no longer obedient to logic: looping, collapsing, insisting, forgetting. Repeated attempts to locate eyes, mouth, or symmetry are less a search for likeness than a search for somewhere to place the self when the inner atmosphere changes without warning.

The overlay of graphite and black ink functions as a bipolar language:

graphite as tremor, hesitation, fragile memory,

ink as decision, severity, manic certainty.

Between them, a face emerges and disappears at the same time.

These drawings are accompanied by olfactory research within the same emotional register, exploring scent as the second face the one we exhale rather than show.
